The advances in technology now mean we don’t have to type a letter on a piece of paper on the typewriter and send it in the post, we type an email, and hit the send key saving time and money. Security technology is now also at that advanced stage, you can run cameras over your IT network, record locally or remotely, access it anywhere on your network or anywhere with internet access. Transmit images across large areas where cables would be hard and costly to install. You should also consider 'trans-coding' technology allowing you to record high quality MJPEG images locally to your recorder, but allowing a seperate low bit rate MPEG4 stream over your network, to remotely view it on your computer using free software.
